Passing the Baton

If you’re visiting this site and you’re in the process of planning a wedding, then you’ve come to the right place! Today we’re talking about the importance of passing the baton and how this simple idea will change your life!

For starters, let’s say you’re six months out from your wedding. You’re feeling good about your progress. You’re not too busy, your timeline is right on track, you’re checking those little boxes off each week and feeling like you’ve got this!

Life continues, and as the weeks pass, the three month mark has sneaked-up on you and for the first time, you begin to feel a bit unsettled. You regain your focus, but then your co-worker decides to quit and you find your workload has just about doubled, all while your better half picks up more shifts (money is tight!).

Not to mention, you’ve been obligated to go to every family gathering (everyone has been so supportive of your journey, you can’t NOT attend!) and your day-to-day checklist of things to accomplish is at an all-time high. There’s been no time to indulge in any TV or reading a book before bed. Oh, and forget about making homecooked meals for dinner!

If you’ve reached these milestone moments in the wedding planning process, we can officially say, welcome to the club! And, it’s time to pass the baton!

There is a reason that in recent years, the idea of a day-of coordinator or the use of a wedding planner has become more popular than ever, and it’s not because of Jennifer Lopez’s depiction in The Wedding Planner. Side note: Was that really 17 years ago?!

Recent trends show that couple’s everyday lives are busier than ever and that even with the most supportive friends and family, they need the extra help when planning their weddings! The ‘passing of the baton’ is the realization that you have put way too much effort into the tiny details of your wedding day, and you are not about to let one single detail go unnoticed.

It’s not a moment of defeat, but a moment of strength that you’re taking control of your big day, and returning to your role as the bride, and not the planner.

You may be thinking, “My venue provides a wedding coordinator, that’s why we chose them!”

But let’s be clear, a venue coordinator is much different than a day-of wedding coordinator or a wedding planner. As a day-of wedding coordinator, we schedule time to meet with you long prior to your big day so we can discuss your vendors, timelines, the venue, and make all your creations a reality. We are solely focused on you and the success of your wedding day.

We’re always available leading up to the event to help consult, too, because questions inevitably will arise! We’re here to put out all the fires while still keeping the sparks alive.

So, ‘passing the baton’, just like in a relay race, is hard to let go! Your work is being transferred to someone else. But luckily, you trust them to carry it through and, I promise you, at the end of the race, it’s well worth it when you cross that finish line. I mean, threshold!

Take a look at our services page to get a sense of what package will be right for you. There is something for everyone!

You can count on us to ensure everything and everyone is where they need to be, that the venue is following your desired timeline, that each of the family photos have been taken, that the DJ is playing the right music, and that at the end of the night, your most precious valuables are well looked after!

We can’t wait to work with you!
