I had the pleasure of getting to know Emily & Dominic when I first met them through the talented Paul Tomasello, of Paul Francis Photography. Before I start gushing over Emily & Dom (Sorry! I can’t help it!) let me first start out by giving a huge THANK YOU to Paul. Paul and I first crossed paths when I was planning my wedding and he was the first photographer that we reached out to. Unfortunately, but no surprise here, he was booked on our wedding date. Fast forward two years later – I reached out to him when launching Particular Planner and he has been so incredibly giving with his time and helpful when it comes to working together in the industry. He was the one who first introduced me to Emily and Dominic, and for that, I will be forever grateful! His work is not only incredible, and elegant, and all the things you want in wedding photography, but his thoroughness throughout the process, his dedication to his clients, and his genuine persona is something you can not even make up. Definitely check his work out!
So, I knew from the beginning of my time working with Emily and Dominic, that this couple was full of love! Corresponding back and forth for a few weeks prior to us meeting at our final walk through at The Ryland Inn, I knew that Emily and Dom were a couple who were beaming with excitement to begin on this new adventure. But what stood out the most to me was that both Emily and Dominic equally showed their respect for each other on two separate occasions. Like so many conversations start, it was Emily who I was in direct contact with at first. We had our call to discuss logistics for the day of and about us working together. But then, she ended the conversation with, “Before we move forward, let me speak it over with Dom and I’ll get back to you”. Some may get worried from ending a conversation like this, but for me, I was like, YES! I knew from that moment this was a couple who would be great to work with because Emily just showed the greatest form of respect to her future hubby-to-be, and from there, I knew she would be great to work with moving forward.
One of my jobs when working with clients is to make their lives easier in general. It’s what I strive to do because I know how much goes into the planning. So when I met with Emily & Dominic at the final walk-through, just about a month away from their wedding day, it was just about making everything come together. Emily & Dominic did a great job selecting their vendors and working on their design concepts, but they also had the confidence to hand over the baton, so that they could finally take a breather and relax in the weeks leading-up to the wedding. So let’s talk about couple goals! I don’t use this phrase lightly, but at the end of their wedding night, Dominic expressed how thankful he was that I was there in the last weeks of their wedding planning because it was a relief taken off of Emily’s shoulders and he could see how my involvement helped her relax. That to me says it all. I absolutely enjoy working with couples who show love and respect for each other – and if that’s not love I don’t know what is!
