When I started Particular Planner, never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that I would have the opportunity to plan a wedding at the historic St. Patrick’s Cathedral in NYC. Like so many, I grew up visiting the famous Church on family trips as we ventured into NYC, but it was while living in the city and commuting to and from my old job where I really grew to love and appreciate the gorgeous piece of NYC history. So, needless to say, I was absolutely honored when Paige and Alejandro reached out, and was so excited to get started. After learning more about Paige and Ale, it made complete sense how they came to choose where they would say their I Do’s, and celebrate with their family and friends dancing the night away. I first met with Paige + Ale at one of our venue walk throughs at the Metropolitan Club New York. From the minute I stepped into the grand hall, the space took my break away. I came to learn that Paige works for an architecture firm in the city – cue the aha moment! St. Patrick’s speaks for itself, but what people don’t realize from the facade of The Metropolitan Club of New York, it has a gorgeous great hall, made completely out of marble and 45 foot high golf coffered ceiling. Designed by the famous architects, McKim, Mead & White. The ballroom overlooks 5th Avenue and provides guests with views of Central Park. Needless to say, both spaces were works of art in themselves.
Paige + Ale thoughtfully decided to bring subtle touches of NYC charm to their day. Everything from the vintage taxi getaway car, to the miniature taxi place card holders for table seating, and we can’t forget a Sigmund’s Pretzel cart and the late night pizza delivery served on silver platters!
But, let me tell you guys something! This wedding took a lot of planning, phone calls, meetings, countless emails and lots of attention to detail to make sure that nothing was left unattended to. St. Patrick’s Cathedral is a public Church, and never closes to the public, which means, Paige and Ale had their wedding guests and about 300 + tourists watching their ceremony. Also, everything from coordinating the bridal party transportation had to be carefully addressed, since 5th Avenue isn’t your normal spot for pick-ups and drop-offs. But, with the help of some very professional vendors and a Bride + Groom who were absolutely LOVELY, the wedding was perfection!
It was a pleasure to work with these amazing vendors who without their professional, this could not have happened!
